What MovenRun is

MovenRun is a movement game for phones. You record a walk, a run or a ride, and the ground you cover becomes cells you hold on a map inside the game. The cells, the districts and the standing that go with them exist only within MovenRun.

Pre-launch, and subject to change

MovenRun has not launched. This documentation describes the product as designed and as currently built, and it says on each page which of the two it means. Features, numbers and timing may change, and anything described as planned may change substantially or not ship. Nothing here is a commitment to deliver a specific feature on a specific date.

Points and deeds have no monetary value

Points are a planned in-game currency. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or cryptocurrency, and cannot be bought or sold. Zone Deeds are a planned record of which cells a player holds and are likewise not a holding of value. There is no purchase in MovenRun.

Nothing in this documentation is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is an offer, a solicitation or an invitation to invest. MovenRun makes no promise of profit, income, return or appreciation of any kind.

Not a medical device

MovenRun supports walking, running and cycling. It is not a medical device, it gives no medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Use your own judgment about your health, and move only where it is safe and legal to do so.

How location is handled

Location is read only while a session is running, and only while the app is in the foreground. Positions are used to check the movement was plausible and to work out which cells the route crossed, and are then discarded. No latitude or longitude is stored. What is retained is the distance, the duration, which cells were touched, and a score describing signal quality. Cell and district names are invented labels and are never resolved to real addresses or places.
